Coming of Age
A phase only a mother could love. In exploring the experiences and emotions that make us human, so much of us is formed in the weirdest years of all: puberty and adolescence.
This work explores the coming of age in the iGeneration, an identity metamorphosis, and a daily dying of innocence from the perspective of the person responsible for safely ushering him to the other side: his mother. Through quiet observation and an occasional invasion of privacy, I create images that echo the emotions and experiences familiar to anyone who has survived this beautifully wretched and tangled phase of human life.
